The GES2015 is over and all the hype about young entrepreneur is over but Kenyayote continues with its weekly feature of young entreprenur of the week. Our Young entrepreneur focus of the week this Friday is Buken Makokha who was also featured on CNN for his hardwork and determination.
Buken Makokha is a community development student at Maasai Mara university. Buken was raised up in a poor family in the slums of Gatina. That did not stop him from moving forward. He generates his income through various businesses that he runs (such as a barbershop, motorbike business, stove selling, among other product delivery businesses).
By 3 am when most university students are asleep Buken is already up doing his school assignments. By 7 am he opens his barbershop (Kinyonzi) ready to serve morning customers. By 8 am his employer replaces him in the barbershop as he takes on his motorbike to deliver goods to his customers. By 4:30 pm Makokha returns to Maasai Mara University to attend his evening classes.
The money he generates from his business has enabled him to move forward with his education.

Don’t  miss to check our website every Friday for new posts on focus on young entrepreneur of the week.
