TUM University students protest against fee increment

TUM university students demonstrations

Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) students have today held demonstrations to protest against various issues, with the primary concern being the increase in fees. The students demanded to know the school administration’s reasoning behind the increase in school fees by Ksh. 6000.

The students also want the administration to address the matter of de-registration of students from the portal due to missing marks. They want lecturers to take the blame for missing marks and not students.

Another demand put forward by the protesting students was the re-opening of Manyani, an open place used for revising exams, relaxing, and much more.

Lastly, the protesting students called for the police investigation into the whereabouts of Daniel Muvea, a second-year student at the Technical University of Mombasa, who has been missing since the beginning of April 2023. The students want answers from the school admin and area police regarding Muvea’s disappearance.
