Riara University postpones Graduation Ceremony as coronavirus precautionary measure

Riara University has canceled its 4th graduation ceremony as coronavirus precautionary measure after first case of COVID-19was reported in Nairobi on 13th March 2020.  

Statement on postponement of Graduation Ceremony

Further to the directive from the Ministry of Health banning all public gatherings, the Riara University Senate, in its special sitting held today, made a decision to postpone the 4th Graduation ceremony that was slated for Thursday 19th March 2020 until further notice. A graduands dinner that was scheduled for this evening has also been postponed.

However, normal classes continue as usual

Africa Nazarene University has also suspended its classes after it was reported that the first person to have had coronavirus in Kenya had contact with people in the area.

The ministry of health has also banned any school sports activities and events and has asked institutions of learning to take precautionary measures.
