Kenya Airways is one of the major airlines in Kenya. In fact it’s the one whose colors match with those of the Kenyan flag (The flag carrier airline of Kenya).
It was founded in 1977 after the East African Airways was dissolved. Its slogan is ‘The Pride of Africa’
Its head office is in Airport North Road, Embakasi, Nairobi, Kenya. Most of its activities take place in Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The airline has won many awards as a leading Airline in Africa. It has also won other international awards eg: The International Safety Award 2014.
The airline has enhanced international tourism in Kenya since it operates within many countries of the world. It also has operations within the country which enhance transport and even domestic tourism within the country. It brings foreign exchange as well as offers numerous employment opportunities to Kenyan citizens.
The airlines’ services are very efficient. From online booking, checking in to prompt response to calls and issues arising in its operations. For international flights, one is supposed to check in not less than two and a half hours prior to the flight while for flights within the country, one should check in at least one and a half hours prior the flight.
It is a member of both the Sky Team and the African Airlines.
