KASNEB says it will not allow exam exemptions

KASNEB CPA exam exemption

KASNEB has today announced that candidates who were previously granted exemptions for exam units in Part 1, which have now been moved to the intermediate level in the new syllabus, will no longer be able to transfer those exemptions.

During the transition to the new KASNEB syllabus, the body had temporarily granted exemptions for papers that were originally categorized under Part 1 of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) program but were later moved to the intermediate level. However, starting from June 30, 2023, KASNEB will no longer be granting any exemptions.

As a result, students who currently hold exemptions have been advised to ensure that they sit for and pass the upcoming exams. Failure to do so will result in the loss of their exempted papers, and they will be required to start all over again.

KASNEB has taken this move to emphasize the importance of all candidates completing the necessary exams and papers.
