The Google Pixel 2 debuted early October alongside with a couple of other Google products. Building upon the original Google Pixel’s fame, the Pixel 2 comes as Google’s rival to Apple’s iPhone 8 and Samsung’s Galaxy S8.

The Pixel 2 comes in two variants; 5” or 6” XL

OS and Processors

The pixel two runs on Android Oreo, 8.0, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset based on Quad-core 2.35 GHz and Quad-core 1.9 GHz. Graphics run are run on an Adreno 540 GPU.

Memory and Storage

The Pixel 2 has internal storage of 64/128 GB for both models. It has a generous 4 GB RAM to ensure you can comfortably multitask without annoying slowing or freezing.

Display

The Pixel 2 features an AMOLED 5.0 inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The Pixel 2 XL sports a 6.0 inch display with 1440 x 2880 pixels. The glass is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 5; promising a scratch-free and shatter-proof experience.

Camera

The rear cameral of the Pixel 2 is 12.3MP with auto focus, face detection, image stabilization among other features. It can shoot 2160p videos at 30fps, 1080p at 30/60/120fps, 720p at 240fps. The front camera is 8MP and can shoot 1080p videos.

The phone supports EDGE, 3G 4G LTE, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11, dual band with Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct and DLNA, NFC, and USB 3.0, Type-C.

Battery

The Pixel 2 is powered by a 2700mAh non-removable battery capable of supporting 23 hours talk time, 42 hours of music playback and 26 hours of video playback. This is a little underwhelming given the most flagships sport batteries with a capacity of 3000mAh or above.

The Pixel 2 XL has a more accommodating battery with a capacity of 3520mAh.
