International or Foreign students requirements of studying in Kenyan University for Undergraduate or Postgraduate programme.
Kenyan Universities recognize the following certificates:
- London GCE,
- ‘A’ level qualifications or their equivalents
- International Baccalaureate, any final secondary or high school examination approved by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) or any internationally recognized examination body.
The minimum University entrance requirements are set out by each university. You will be interested to check the university’s website that you want to join. Subject requirements for each Faculty/School are set out also in specific universities.

Kenya’s admission cycle runs on January, May and September of every year. Application forms for different degree programmes may be obtained from the the university website that you intend to join.
N.B:
- Fees payable by foreign/international students vary depending on the degree programme. The fees are payable in US dollars.
- All foreign/International students admitted to any University in Kenya are required by Law to acquire Kenya Pupil’s Pass from the Department of Immigration and student should not take up studies before acquiring this important document.
