Registering an eCitizen account with an invalid email address or phone number is something that affects many Kenyans. This mostly happens if you create an account in a cyber cafe with a new email address, which you over time stop using, and it becomes inactive, or you forget its login credentials.
To login into your eCitizen account, you need to have an email address or phone number that you can access since this is where the account verification one-time password is sent to.
How to change eCitizen phone number and email
To change your eCitizen account phone number or email follow the procedure below;
- Login to eCitizen portal
- Click “Account Management” on the top menu,
- Under the “email” or “phone” click change to change your details.
- If you have forgotten your password, go to ecitizen login page and click forgot password to reset your password. This will require you to have access to the email or phone number that was initially used to create the account.
Please note that if you do not have access to email, you can use your registered phone number to receive the verification code, then log in and update the email to your preferred one.
Change without logging in
If you are in a situation where you do not have access to both the email and phone number used to create the eCitizen account, which means you need to change your email or phone without logging in, then the only option is to contact eCitizen support team.
Send an email with a copy of your ID to support@ecitizen.go.ke or support@pesaflow.com and request for change of account details. You can also call eCitizen through phone numbers 0780206206 or 0706206206. It is recommended to use the email option.
It is important to note that changing account details without login is only accepted if you have not accessed the account within 30 days.
