Are you allowed to drive as you wait for your smart dl after application?

You cannot drive without a license on the road. You either need to have an interim driving license or original driving license. However, these days, and there is no option to apply for Interim driving license via NTSA TIMS portal.

The best option available is to apply for the old driving license (which lasts for one year) via eCitizen as you wait for Smart DL.

Smart DL takes 3 to 4 weeks after taking your Biometrics before it is ready for collection.

Smart DL should not take that long to be out. Visit Huduma Centre (NTSA Desk) to find out where the problem is.

Mine has taken almost 2 years I re -applied again  this year September  for the second  time have not even gotten  the text tha shows my dl is ready what could be the problem

There is also option for DL Verification through NTSA app which shows specific vehicles you are licensed to drive
