- Knowledge in logistics, distribution, and retrieval of material is necessary
- Previous experience will be an added advantage.
IEBC Returning officers job requirements
These are:
- Must be a Kenyan citizen with high integrity.
- Computer skills
- good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a diploma or degree in social science from a recognized institution
- Must be a resident of the ward that you are applying for.
- A minimum of six years of experience working in the private or public sector.
- Must be available during the election period.
- Be willing to work in any place across the country as assigned.
IEBC elections Counting and Voting clerks Job Requirements
To be a clerk you have to meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be a Kenyan citizen with high integrity.
- A minimum academic requirement of diploma in ICT.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good report writing skills.
- Must be available during the election period.
- Minimum score of C- in KCSE.
- Minimum experience of 2 years in ICT.

We are not sure whether this has changed, but in 2017 general elections, IEBC paid its clerks ksh. 1,000 in a day from the day they begun training to the last day of elections. Payments are normally issued via KCB Bank.
