Honey is also quite useful topically. Here are some ways natural honey is beneficial.

  1. Pimple remover

Raw honey can be used as an effective pimple-remover. The antibodies in honey help heal acne naturally. It is also gentle on the skin.

Pour a half teaspoon of the honey on your palm and let it warm a little. Then gently spread on your face and let it stay for at least 10 minutes before rinsing off.

  1. Burn balm

Raw honey, when spread topically on minor burns can help reduce inflammation and enhance healing.

Clean the burn area, spread honey over it and cover with a gauze. Be sure to changed daily.

  1. Antibacterial

Honey contains enzyme glucose oxidase. This enzyme produces hydrogen peroxide; which helps to speed up the healing of a wound.

Spread a little honey over a wound before covering with a bandage.

Natural honey makes a good hair moisturizing agent. Apply on wet hair and leave the mask for 10 minutes and then wash off.

You can also make a hair rinse by mixing 1 teaspoon of honey with 4 cups of warm water. The rinse is effective in smoothening hair and making it shiny.

Honey is an active ingredient in making a homemade herbal cough syrup.

To make the syrup, mix two tablespoons of raw honey and the juice of half a lemon in a quarter cup of warm water.

Salted honey is helpful in bringing the hormones to balance for good sleep.
