A lecturer at the University of Nairobi (UON) is in the spotlight for allegedly leaking exams to a law student in the institution. The University has come up with a committee to investigate the matter which is considered a serious offense by law.

It is reported that a Third-year student shared the examination materials with some of his colleges at the University.

The UoN School of Law dean Prof Kiarie Mwaura said the lecturer has since been suspended and investigations have started. Prof Mwaura added that appropriate action will be taken once the investigation is complete.

In his defense to the institution’s reputation, the dean said the incident is unfortunate and it was a first time incident in the University.

Cabinet Secretary of education Prof George Magoha recently asked universities to strive on quality education, saying that he had been shocked by the quality of some graduates coming out of public universities.

He talked about how he interviewed some of the graduates and surprisingly some did not even remember their thesis.

Prof. Magoha further said that it is time we stop talking about the numbers of graduates and focus on the quality of those graduates. He cited that experts who could be writing thesis for students will be caught and taken to jail where they belong.

This incident comes after 21 law graduates were locked out of the Kenya School of Law for not meeting the required admission qualifications.
