Nairobi Water Company has indicated that University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University among other areas in Nairobi will encounter water cuts.
A statement issued by the company read;
The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Ltd. would like to inform its esteemed customers that there will be a scheduled shutdown of the Ng’ethu Water Treatment Plant on Thursday, 15 September 2016 from 6.00am to Friday, 16 September 2016 at 6.00pm.
The aim of the shutdown is to re-install the Gigir reservoir outlets valve which in is under repair… The scheduled maintenance work will enhance production of water ensuring effective distribution within the City and its environs.
During the shutdown the following areas will not receive water supply:
- The of whole City Centre, University of Nairobi main campus, coca cola, factory , University of Nairobi school of law,
- Other areas include; Kenyatta University, Kasarani, Kahawa Sukari, Kahawa Barracks, Mwiki, Garden Estate and Thome Estate, Karen, Mdountain View, Naivasha Road, Kangemi, Satellite, Kawangware, Waithaka, Areas along jogoo road, e.t.c
All other areas that will be affected have been indicated in the notice above
Whilst every effort will be made to restore the water supply, we request all customers in the affected areas to use their stored water sparingly during the interruption period.
