Universities are a tower of knowledge in search of people with academic excellency. Universities are meant to tackle challenges of the society and change lifestyle through creating of knowledge. Not producing terrorists.
We sought to look at the best universities in Kenya from different perspectives and the vice chancellors leading them. The list below is based on kenyayote’s perspective and if you have a different fair opinion about the list then you are free to air it in the comment section below. But don’t be to mean to us.
1.Prof. Olive Mugenda
Kenyatta University is perhaps one of the best universities Kenya in-terms of infrastructure development. Behind all this is this inspiring woman the vice chancellor of KU Prof. Olive Mugenda. Olive is the Vice-President of International Association of Universities. In 2006 she got The Elder of Burning Spear Presidential Award. She is also a member of several other national boards.
2. Prof. Peter Mbithi
University of Nairobi has persistently been ranked as the top university in Kenya and among the best universities in east Africa. Behind this university is this simple man Prof. Peter Mbithi.
3. Prof. John Odhiambo
Strathmore university is among the most highlighted universities in the media. It’s standard of education is exceptional. It is also well known as one of the universities with the best business school in Africa. Behind strathmore university is one Prof. John Odhiambo. He holds a BSc in mathematics and MSc. and PhD in statistics.
4. Prof. Stanley Waudo
Mount Kenya university is among the fastest growing universities in Kenya. Mount Kenya university became the first private university in Kenya to own anatomy laboratory to train medical doctors. Behind this university is this great man Prof. Stanley Waudo.
5. Prof. Rev. Jones Kaleli
Though small it is in-terms of coverage, Kabarak University is among Kenya universities that produce students with the highest level of discipline. It has recorded the least number of strikes since it was founded. Behind this university is Prof. Rev. Jones Kaleli.
