It was in the wake of Tuesday 10th when Egerton university students were woken up by a loud scream from the CBD hostels, L. Elementaita. Boniface Mwanzia had killed himself.
The demise of Bonface Mwanzia cascaded the atmosphere within an hour. He had thrown himself from a third floor building at around 3 a.m and passed on shortly in Nakuru hospital.
The late Bonface Mwanzia was a second year student pursuing a degree in Economics and Statistics. He had just resumed back to his studies in 2015 after deferring due to drug addiction.
It was alleged that the deceased was at rehabilitation centre during his period of deferment. His roommates said that the late Boniface used to ask them strange questions which left them startled. Some of the questions he used to ask are,”mtu akitaka kufa anafanyaje? (if a person wants to die what does he do?), je, mtu akifa anaskiaje? (when a person dies how does he feel?)…na mtu akitaka kudiffer anafanyaje? (and if a person wants to differ what does he do?)”
No one could answer these until on Tuesday morning when his life was cut short by death. Residents of L. Elementaita hostel heard a loud scream, they rushed to the scene and got Bonface Mwanzia lying down.
There was no sign of high impact fall since there was only a small blood spot. His one leg was broken. He was unconscious. They rushed him to Nakuru hospital where he passed on.
Investigations for the course of Boniface Mwanzia’s death are still going on.
