Am sited with my friend John from Machakos county and he narrates to me about the politics of Machakos County. He tells me that his governor is those kind who ho invest millions of money to build a classic toilet in Machakos Town and then takes several pictures of that one toilet from different angles. He then shares the pictures on Facebook with a tagline “Politics of development.” He then makes kenyans believe that this the kind of toilet he has build for every citizen in Machakos county.
He concludes by telling me that Mutua is running the county like a private entity that is why he does not to listen to divergent views from the likes of his deputy. From his narration i derive an image of who exactly Mutua is.

He is a gifted politician who has been able, by the instrument of PR, to mold and form the will of Kenyans out of Kenyans. He knows how to dramatize himself and his platform to win public sympathy. Crying being the best dramatizing skill.
Alfred Mutua represents a group of politicians in Kenya who have turned politics into a Multi billion business entity. But unlike business, in politics it is only one person who benefits.
