OnePlus 5T: Detailed Review: OnePlus handsets might not be as popular in Kenya as the Samsungs and Infinixes. By any standards, this does not make them inferior.
OnePlus handsets actually feel premium than most from your regular industry kings. The case is no different with the just released OnePlus 5T.
It is packed with high-end specs but comes at almost half the price you would expect some similarly spec’d handsets from either Samsung or Google.
Here are its technical specifications;
OS and Processor
The OnePlus 5T runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat). It is powered by an Octa-core (4×2.45GHz Kyro and 4×1.9GHz Kyro) processor based on Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset.
The GPU is an Adreno 540.
Display
The OnePlus 5T is not for single-handed use; it has a 6” Optic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels (401ppi density).
It is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Memory and Storage
It comes in two varieties; 6GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage and 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage.
It has no card slot for memory expansion.
Camera
The front camera is 16MP, f/2.0, 20mm, EIS (gyro), 1080p, Auto HDR.
The back camera is dual-lens 20MP + 16MP, f/1.7, 27mm, EIS (gyro), phase detection autofocus, dual-tone flash and portrait mode.
The primary camera can record video at 2160p at 30fps, 1080p at 30/60fps and 720p at 30/120fps.
Network and Communication
Network connectivity is via GSM, CDMA, HSPA and LTE. Communication with other devices is via

- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct, DLNA and hotspot
- Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE, aptX HD

The OnePlus 5T is powered by a Non-removable 3300mAh Li-Po battery

Pros:
- Cheaper than high-end devices with similar or inferior features
- Very fast fingerprint reader
Cons:
- Memory not expandable via microSD
The OnePlus 5T is expected to be released on 21st November, 2017.
