Muranga County Jubilee party primaries, Wednesday 26th April 2017: The Jubilee party nominations went down in Muranga County on Friday. The Most hotly contested seat in the Muranga primaries was that of Governor position. The candidates to beat in this position were incumbent governor Hon. Mwangi Wa-Iria and Kabete MP Jamleck Kamu Irungu.
Muranga County is a voting stronghold of President Uhuru Kenyatta according to the 2013 presidential elections results where he received over 90% of the total votes against his closest competitor Raila Odinga.
