Mpesa to Pakistan or Bangladesh money transfer using Terrapay

Terrapay has announced that it has partnered with Mpesa to introduce a convenient way for Kenyans to send money from their Mpesa accounts to users in Bangladesh and Pakistan. You can send money to either the recipient’s bank account or their mobile phone number.

The charges for sending money from Mpesa to Terrapay vary based on the amount being transferred. For transfers ranging from Ksh 101 to Ksh 5,000, the fee is Ksh 100. For amounts between Ksh 5,001 and Ksh 20,000, the charge is Ksh 250. Transfers between Ksh 20,001 and Ksh 35,000 incur a fee of Ksh 350. Any remittances exceeding Ksh 35,000 will incur a transaction charge of Ksh 500. The maximum amount you can send per day is Ksh 300,000.

How to send money from Mpesa to Pakistan or Bangladesh

To send money from Mpesa to Pakistan or Bangladesh using Terrapay, follow the procedure below;

  • Dial *334#
  • select “Send Money”
  • Select “Mpesa Global.”
  • Choose “Send Money Abroad”
  • Choose whether you want to send money to Mobile Number or Bank Account
  • Select either Pakistan or Bangladesh as the recipient’s country.
  • Enter the recipient’s mobile phone number or bank account details and specify the desired amount to be sent.

You can also use the Mpesa App to complete the transaction.

The amount sent by the sender in Kenyan Shillings will be converted to the local currency of the recipient’s country using the prevailing exchange rates.

Safaricom says that it is possible to reverse money sent to a Terrapay user within 30 days by calling 100 or 200.
