Moses Kuria is back to doing what he does best; spewing tribal vitriol on social media. “Kiambu has spoken. They have said wembe ni ule ule. Wangige and Kiambu people are seething with anger. 1 million of their votes were cancelled by 4 people. But they are so ready to do it again. And even more. Manhunt is on tonight for the 200,000 people who did not vote and the 70,000 that voted for that other demon.” Kuria posted on his Facebook page.
Kuria’s comments seem to have inspired youths in Githurai who started harassing non-kikuyu and non-kalenjin motorists. Witnesses and victims say that they were asked if one was a Jubilee or NASA supporter in Kikuyu language. The youth were particularly targeting members of Luo, Kamba, Luhya, and Kisii communities; from which opposition leader Raila Odinga enjoys support.
Here are some posts from social media users who witnessed or went through the troubling ordeal.

Githurai: Jubilee supporters stopping cars asking whether you're #NASA or #Jubilee. Woe unto you if you don't speak the "right language"

Police however got wind of the illegal activities of the youths and were able to contain the situation before it escalated to catastrophic levels. Last night, Moses Kuria was again caught on video claiming he will circumcise Raila Odinga and Luos using scissors.
Part of what Moses Kuria said last night… that he'll circumcise @RailaOdinga & Luos using scissors. Not scared of arrest. @NCIC_Kenya pic.twitter.com/yZlfZDyRIV

Social media users have lashed out at Kuria and are taking the government’s silence over the issue as endorsement. This is in light of the fact that Kuria is the President’s Member of Parliament.

Interestingly, the institution tasked with ensuring hate mongers are punished is quiet. the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), is yet to make any comments or issue an arrest warrant for Moses Kuria and his ilk who are fueling ethnic animosity at this critical period.
