Kuccps: No cutoff points for KCSE 2016 candidates, all with C+ will be government sponsored

It is now official that all KCSE 2016 candidates who scored C+ and above will have an opportunity to join public university under government sponsorship to pursue degrees of their own choice. There will be no cutoff points for university entry in 2017.

While speaking on NTV’s AMLIVE show, Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) CEO, Mr. John Muraguri indicated that there are enough spaces in Universities to accommodate all students who scored C+ above under government sponsorship.

Muraguri also indicated that students who scored below grade C+ will get a chance to pursue their studies in different capacities as follows;

 

  • Those who scored C and C- will get a chance to pursue diploma courses in government technical universities and colleges.
  • Those who scoredĀ  Ds Will also get chance to do certificate courses in different institutions
  • Those who scored Es Will get a chance to join vocational training to sharpen their skills.

 

Revision of Courses forĀ  placement to universities will start end of this month but we will do a news alert when it starts. There will be first and second revisions and Kenyayote will provide an update on how to go about that.
