Kaimenyi’s hand in disapproval of courses in public universities

Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi

Over the past 3 months we have witnessed disgusting notices and press warnings being issued by bodies that claim to approve courses offered by higher institutions of learning like Engineering board of Kenya, The Council of Legal Education  etc .  Top public universities like Moi, Kenyatta, Egerton, TUK among others have all been mentioned in this mess!!
That a public university which was registered by government entities is accused of offering courses that are either not approved or legalized  or lack the capacity to offer the said degree programme. These warnings come  more than 5 years after the involved university was approved to offer the same course.
When a student joins a public universities he has no doubt about it because a public university is in the hands of the government and all the services that it offers must be legitimate or approved. However, this appears not be the case.
That  most innocent students have been found in the hands of this confused system of learning in public institutions in Kenya. A system where we warn you and we ask you to warn your brothers and sisters who have not joined campus not to trust anything.
That a public institution is stopped from  offering  certain degree programmes  for lack of enough capacities to sustain it.  Who funds public universities? Who is to blame? Who is suffering?

Student leaders should stop taking selfies with first years and begin demanding answers to the above critical questions from the ministry of education boss prof. Kaimenyi.
