university staff strikeThe university staff strike which was scheduled to take place on 30th may 2014 will not take place as Ministry of education releases sh. 3.8 billion to public universities to pay salaries for the staff as agreed.

Speaking in a meeting held at Education Ministry’s Jogoo house, education principal secretary Belio Kipsang said that they had no option of the staff going on strike. Implying that the only option remaining was to release the money

However, the university academic staff union chair Sammy Kubasu has warned that they will not accept money to be paid to the staff in bits.
