Spotify is finally available in Kenya and you can pay with Mpesa to stream your favorite music. Below is a pricing table of different plans and a procedure on how to pay in Kenya Shillings with Mpesa.
Spotify in Kenya
On 22nd February 2021, music Streaming service provider Spotify officially launched in Kenya and many other Africa countries. With Spotify, you can download and play music offline or play music on Spotify app without the need of using a VPN.
Unlike Apple music, you can now pay for Spotify plans using Mpesa which gives it a competitive advantage.
Spotify Plans in Kenya
Spotify monthly plans in Kenya are divided into four:
- Individual for Ksh. 299
- Duo (2 accounts) for Ksh. 399
- Family (6 accounts) for Ksh. 479
- Student (one account) for Ksh. 149
You can either choose to pay for a Spotify Plan that does not auto renew (prepaid) or one that auto renews (subscribe). However, Mpesa payment option is only available for the Individual plan that does not auto renew. Below is the pricing table for the individual plan (prepaid).

How to pay for Spotify with Mpesa
To pay for Spotify individual plan using Mpesa, follow the step by step procedure provided below.
- Visit: Spotify.com
- Login or Signup to create a new account
- Click Premium button at the top men
- Select the individual plan (only one with mpesa payment option)
- Click Get Started
- Select Prepay (12 months, 6 months, 3 months, 1 month or 7days)
- Select Mpesa
- Enter your mobile phone
- Click Continue to Purchase
Note: Paying with Mpesa does not have the auto-renewal option. Therefore, you will have to manually pay for your plan once it expires . If you want your plan to auto renew, you can either pay with PayPal or Credit/Debit cards (Visa and MasterCard).
