A section of KNUT officials were on Friday 6th August 2019 denied entry into the CBC Training Conferences at KICC graced by by president Uhuru Kenyatta and Education CS George Magoha.
KICD Response on KNUT officials being turned away
KICD responded to the claims insisting that KNUT officials did not register for the event as required. This is despite an official invitation being sent to KNUT SG Sossion. Part of the invitation is attached above (view full letter of invitation).
KNUT on being locked out of CBC Training Conferences at KICC
In statements posted on twitter, KNUT indicated:
“KNUT through it’s Sg Hon Wilson Sossion was officially invited to the #CBCConference2019. When the KNUT delegation arrived they were turned away dispite showing the invitation letter below and denied entry cards. Sossion was asked to seek clearance interior ministry” KNUT went ahead to say
“We are told that the train of new curriculum left the station. How can that be, when the captain of the train (TEACHERS) is locked out of the CBC Conference 2019 and told to seek clearance from interior ministry? Who will speak on their behalf on this important matter?”
