In fighting to maintain its footing, Nokia continues its legacy of producing durable phones.
The new Nokia 2, and entry level phone, is testament to this philosophy. Here are its technical specifications.
Display
The Nokia 2 has a 5.0” LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels, 294 ppi density. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
OS and Processors
The device runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with a future upgrade to Android 8.0 (Oreo).
It is powered by a Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 processor based on the Qualcomm MSM8909v2 Snapdragon 212 chipset.
Graphics are powered by an Adreno 304 GPU.
RAM and Storage
The Nokia 2 has a paltry 1 GB of RAM. Internal storage is also dismal, only 8 GB. The insufficient memory is however expandable externally via microSD of up to 128GB.
Camera
The Primary camera is 8 MP with Geo-tagging, autofocus and an LED flash. It is capable of recording 720p video at 30fps. The secondary camera is 5 MP.
Network and Connectivity
The Nokia has dual SIM capability and 2 supports GSM, HSPA and LTE network standards.
Communication with other devices is possible via Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, hotspot. Bluetooth 4.1, A2DP, LE. GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and BDS. microUSB 2.0.
Battery
The Nokia 2 is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 4100 mAh battery.
The battery is capable of supporting up to 1340 hours on standby, up to 19 hours of talk time on 3G and up to 139 hours of music playback.
