CS Fred Matiangi and Nominated mp, KNUT Secretary general Wilson Sossion issued a statement on 18th September 2017 after a stakeholder meeting that was held at KICD Nairobi.
What Matiangi had to say
“We like dealing in a formal way, the IEBC has not communicated to us of any date change regarding the elections If they decide to change the date then we will come back to the public, but what I can assure you is that the Exam calendar will not change. The president advised us that the exams calendar should not be affected in any way and we are doing all we can to ensure that the exams are carried out as scheduled. We will provide all the required security to our children to ensure they sit their exams”
What Nominated MP and KNUT SG Wilson Sossion had to say
“Exams and school programs should not be politicized. For any nation children come first. The dates as set out and as outlined should not be altered for whatsoever reason.
The exams are very critical for our children and they have prepared for the exams and not any other reason. Whether there are changes on the elections dates, we will stand to defend the exams calendar.
The two events are independent. That is where we are and that is our position”
The statements were issued today (Monday 18th September 2017)
