Be organized

Life is much simpler at the university when you are organized. Being organized is all about knowing what needs to be done, when and how it should be done without distractions. As a student you should have a schedule that helps you to keep track of your lectures, assignments and other extra-curricular activities. This will help you to stay focused and accomplish all your plans and avoid issues such as missing classes, late submission or even failure of submission of assignments amongst others.

Have a stand

Here is a situation where you have an exam tomorrow and your best friend/girlfriend/ boyfriend is calling and texting you to go hang out together at a friend’s house party. What do you do? Though it sounds fun, it is not the best thing to do since you have an exam to read for. It is important to set boundaries and learn to say no in such situations. This will help you to prioritize on the important things that need to be done.

Study in the library, not your hostels

This is one way of avoiding distractions while studying. The library offers a quiet and conducive environment for you to conduct research and study.

Select your hostel/roommates carefully

Hostels that are too popular in campus overcrowded or can be a distraction to your studies. Off campus hostels also come with too much freedom that can be harmful. You should be careful when selecting your place of residence.
