Gmail for instance only allows you to attach and send documents via email that are not larger than than 25MB.

Gmail is a Google product. There is a limit on the total amount of file size you can send via Gmail address. If you are fond of sending large files then your email  storage space will be filled up quickly. If you are using Mozila Browser, you can also send upto 2.5 GB of files. You can send a maximum of  1GB without signing-up for an account. Just upload your files to Firefox Send and provide your recipient with the generated download link. You can set a password or expiry time for the download link

If you need to send more than 1GB to upto 2.5 GB, you need to sign-up for free account.

Gmail vs Mediafire vs Wetransfer

All the three have their own benefits. If you want to transfer small size files through guaranteed secure, spam free platforms then go for Gmail and if you want to store and transfer large files then go for Mediafire.
