Mike Jacobs , Judith Chepngeno’s suspension angers a number of university of Nairobi students (UON)
Monday 11th April 2016, University of Nairobi (uon) published in their website a list of suspended students that it stated participated in unrest and destruction of public property. Number 32 in the list of the 62 suspended students was one Judith Chepng’eno.
Judith was Health and environment Secretary Aspirant in the 2016 SONU election. Her suspension has shocked many. As her friends say, Judy Chepng’eno did not deserve to be in the list. She was not a person who was into violence. She opted for dialogue. She was humble. A lady who did not believe in man-made limitations.
Her refusal to join the Admin led team in the campaigns saw her attract a number of sponsored fierce enemies. They feared that her ideologies would dwindle the aspirations of administration moles. They plotted all kinds of obstacles to frustrate her. It took great courage for Judith Chepng’eno to stand up and put herself in the centre of a crowd of potentially dangerous, men.
This what one of those who believed in her ideologies had to say (Kelvin Koech) “the suspension of Judith Chepng’eno u29/2224/2012 not only shows that the university of Nairobi senate incompetence but also how it has accepted to be used by cartels in the name of disciplinary actions this is uncalled for and primitive act. We as Kenya university student leaders condemn this with the strongest terms and offer our full support for her legal steps to challenge the decision. Intimidation due to failed sycophancy is a thing of the past and should not be an aspect of educational elites like Prof. Mbithi.”
