CPA stands for Certified Public Accountants. It is one of the accounting professional short courses offered by KASNEB in Kenya. Its benefits have been listed below.

Qualification of doing CPA in Kenya is that you must have a minimum of grade C+ (C plus) in KCSE, or a degree or diploma or technician certificate (from kasneb).

KASNEB CPA course is divided into 3 parts and 6 sections. Each part has 2 sections and each sections are divided further into subsections called units as illustrated below.

You have to register to do each section and pass in order to proceed to the next section.

  • Entrepreneurship and Communication (CA13)

  • Management Accounting (CA22)

  • Financial Reporting (CA33)

Section 4

  • Quantitative Analysis (CA43)

Section 5

  • Strategy,  Governance and Ethics (CA51)
  • Advanced Management Accounting (CA52 )
  • Advanced Financial Management (CA53)

 Section 6

  • Advanced Public Finance and Taxation (CA61)
  • Advanced Auditing and Assurance (CA62)
  • Advanced Financial Reporting (CA63)

Benefits of Doing CPA

Doing CPA can be of benefit during the following situations:

Most accounting jobs will give CPA (K) graduates an added advantage in addition to the relevant degree or diploma course

You can apply for some accounting jobs with only a CPA certificate
