Athletics Kenya To Hold Trials For The World Athletics Relays On April 12, 2025, At The Nyayo Stadium
Athletics Kenya will hold Trials for the World Athletics Relays on April 12, 2025, at the Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi. The Trials act as a yardstick to select Team Kenya that will compete at the World Athletics Relays, scheduled for May 10-11, 2025, in Guangzhou, China. This event is part of the broader preparations for the Road to Tokyo.
The following events will be used to select athletes for the relay teams that will represent Kenya at the World Relays in China:
- 100m (Men and Women)
- 400m (Men and Women)
- 4x100m Relay (Men and Women)
- 4x400m Relay (Men and Women)
Non-trial events, or exhibition events, will also be held. These events provide athletes with a chance to meet qualification standards for the World Championships in Tokyo and are eligible for prize money. The exhibition events include:
- 110m Hurdles (Men)
- 100m Hurdles (Women)
- 400m Hurdles (Men and Women)
- 3000m Steeplechase (Men and Women)
- High Jump (Men and Women)
- Long Jump (Men and Women)
- Javelin Throw (Men and Women)
Important Note: The World Relays Trials will be by invitation only. A list of invited athletes will follow.
Athletes interested in participating in the non-trial (exhibition) events should register using the following link: https://forms.gle/a2oKUudrBXADBLC28. All athletes must collect their bib/running numbers on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Nyayo National Stadium from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
