The Opening Ceremony of the IAAF World 18 Championships will take place in Kasarani Stadium on Wednesday 12th July 2017 at Opening 15:55 pm (evening). The opening ceremony will be presided by the president of the republic of Kenya-Uhuru Kenyatta.

The IAAF World U18 Championships initially known as IAAF World Youth Championships in Athletics will be hosted in Nairobi, Kenya for the first time.
