To check NHIF account status via shortcode, sms the word ID followed by your ID number to 21101.

For example, ID 12346789 to 21101. You will receive a sms with your account status and dependants covered.

If you sms ID number alone without including the word ID before it, then you will receive an sms that reads "Invalid NHIF card Number: 123456789"
