The administration and the student elections board indicated that Manyara was sworn as the chair of UNSA because he contested unopposed after some of the candidates were locked out.

Reactions from students and alumni on Antony Manyara swearing in

Babu Owino

“The most stupid thing the University of Nairobi has done is to swear in a candidate as the Stupid UNSA Chairman before election.Students should elect one of their own,say NO to selection.”

Graham Mukenye

“Antony Manyara has been sworn in in the same manner that Mwai Kibaki was sworn in 2007. I am not a prophet but something is looming.”

TJ Fanet

“Meanwhile my UoN comrades friends mmepewa Chairman bila kupiga kura. A chair being sworn in before day ya election… The great UoN has been reduced to Kabianga Teachers college ….”

MJ Waweru

“Swearing in Manyara unopposed is dangerous for the sake of peace . It does not only deny comrades their freedom of voting but also delegates their freedom of choice .

It will suspend peace.

How do you speak Infront of delegates who campaigned using their cash and you were just sworn in without even students being informed.”
