Maisha Namba
Maisha Namba is Kenya’s new personal identification digital card that replaces the old Identification card. Maisha Namba seeks to merge a number of personal identification documents into one reducing the burden of Kenyans carrying many documents to identify themselves.
The Unique Personal Identifier (UPI) number available on Maisha Namba card will be issued at birth and be used for services like school registration, tax payment, etc. It is important to note that the Maisha Card for under 18s and Over 18s will be different. Once you turn 18 years old, you will have to apply for a different Maisha Card for adults but the ID number will remain the same.
Data processing will be managed by the National Digital Identity Management System.
