TSC promotion application process for various positions

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has advertised for promotion opportunities in the positions of principal, deputy principal, lecturer, head teacher, and deputy head teacher. This is in line with TSC career progression guidelines.  There are over 15,000 vacancies available for promotion.

How to apply for TSC Promotion

To apply for TSC promotion to various leadership positions in Teacher Training Colleges (TTC), Secondary and Primary Schools, follow the procedure below;

Requirements of application

To apply for promotion, you must meet the following recruitment requirements;

  • You must be a TSC registered teacher
  • You must have a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process.
  • Chief Principal (34 positions): Must have worked as a Senior Principal T-Scale 14 for a minimum period of three years.
  • Senior Principal (108 positions):  Must have worked as Principal/ Deputy Principal I, T-Scale 13 for at least three years
  • Principal (541 positions): Worked as Deputy Principal II/Senior Master I, T-Scale 12 for two years
  • Deputy Principal II (547): Worked for Deputy Principal II/Senior Master I, T-Scale 12 for two years.
  • Senior Lecturer I (72 positions): Worked as Senior Lecturer II T-Scale 11 for a minimum period of three years.
  • Deputy Principal III (1057 positions): Worked as Senior Master III T-Scale 10 for three years
  • Senior Master III (1142 positions): Worked as Master IV T-Scale 9 for two years.
  • Senior Lecturer IV (216 positions) Worked as  Lecturer I, T-Scale 8 for three years.
  • Senior Master IV (12,716 positions): Worked as Secondary Teacher I, T-Scale 8 for two years.
  • Secondary Teacher I (1928 positions): Worked as Secondary School Teacher II, T-Scale 7 for a period of three years
  • Head Teacher (1049 positions): Worked as Deputy Head Teacher II TSC Scale 9 for three years.
  • Head Teacher (30 vacancies): Worked as Deputy Head Teacher II TSC Scale 9 for three years.
  • Deputy Head Teacher II (1930 positions): Worked as Senior Teacher I T- Scale 8 for three years
  • Senior Teacher I (3040 vacancies): Worked as a Senior Teacher II T- Scale 7 for three years.
  • Senior Teacher I (346 positions): Worked as Senior Teacher II T- Scale 7 for three (3) years.
  • Senior Teacher II  (10,819 positions): Worked as  Primary Teacher I T-Scale 6 for three years.
  • Senior Teacher II (700 positions): Worked as Primary Teacher I T-Scale 6 for a minimum period of three years.

All applications should be submitted online. If you face problems with accessing the application website or submitting your forms, try again later. Manual form submission is not allowed.

The deadline for submission of applications is September 15, 2023 (after extension).
