The exact cause of Wilfred Machage’s death has not been revealed but the family says that he died of illness in Nigeria at age 65.

Dr. Machage was elected as Migori senator in 2013 under the ODM ticket. He did not contest for the senatorial seat in 2017 after falling out with ODM. He opted to contest for the Kuria West MP seat which he lost to Jubilee’s Mr. Mathias Nyambabe Robi. Ben Okello Oluoch (who later died of throat cancer) succeeded him as Migori senator.

In July 2018, Dr. Wilfred Gisuka Machage announced that he had retired from elective politics.

That is all we know for now.
