University students just like every other school-going children have been at home for the second week now since the president Uhuru ordered the closure of all learning institutions across the country as a measure to curb the growth  of Covid-19 infections.

The government has been on the frontline encouraging  students and teachers to continue with learning processes through online platforms.

University of Nairobi students have however opposed the suggestions in solidarity terming it unreasonable and biased. They pointed out several issues that make online classes a dream that will never come true in Kenya

Most of them complained about the quality of the internet speed in the country that has always been poor despite the efforts by the government and telecom companies to get a solution to this. The students  also termed electricity connectivity upcountry as a major challenge since most rural homes where they come from that privilege

The students further  noted that they were not against learning but they want inclusive learning that will benefit all students.
