Aaron Cheruiyot win and what they are saying
The victory of Aaron Cheruiyot in the just concluded Jubilee Alliance Party nomination for Kericho County by elections over seasonal, powerful and rich politician Franklin Bett marks an end to the so called “Politics for the Rich” era.
Over the past years the rich have dominated the political scene making it hard for the youths to compete with them. Aaron Cheruiyot victory brings a new kind of politics in Kenya. Politics based on ideas not money.
Former Moi University Chairman Kipsaro Arap Boit sent his congratulation to message Aaron Cheruiyot. Speaking to KenyaYote on phone, Arap Boit termed the win as a paradigm shift which shows that more confidence has been built on young leaders whose leadership has been tested before.
“I wish to congratulate Mr. Aaron Cheruiyot upon his victory in the JPK party nominations for Kericho County Senatorial race. Aaron, who is my predecessor in MUSO politics has proved that Kenya is ready to embrace young leaders who have shown the zeal to be part of nation building through elective leadership. ”
Arap Boit is set to contest for Chesumei parliamentary seat in the 2017 general elections.
Here is what other student leaders and youths had to say
Mwambeo (Moi Unversity): Titus Kipngetich, do you people know how you’ve revitalised Kenya by giving us Aaron Cheruiyot? He’s JAP and much more. To us, he’s a pathfinder and the Magnetic North that will direct our stubborn argument against oppression and ethnic politics. He’s so loud a voice of the young and poor that’ve been in the trenches. We will be heard. These friends down here remember how his suspension from Moi University simply because he could move masses and tell the VC Prof Mibey: “just as we pray Our Father in heaven, here in Moi we pray Our Father Professor Mibey. Some of us will not be decorated to a quarter your achievements by the time we reach your age….” proved his ordination.
Pacie Mariita (Moi University): Congratulations comrade!
Peter Ndag (Kisii Unuversityi): Accept my warm congratulations and those of the people of Nakuru on your impressive victory in the JAP nomination. As you embark upon your new responsibilities, I am confident that the trust placed in you by the people of Kericho will inspire you to lead them on the path of prosperity. As a youth, your win is a sure sign that Yes Youth Can!
